Preliminary Screening (recorded audition)
The following two pieces should be performed and recorded:
- C.Ph.E.Bach : Sonata in a-minor for oboe solo (original: flute) Wq 132 : 1st and 3rd movements
- J.W.Kalliwoda : Divertissement op.58 for oboe and orchestra (Universal Edition), with piano
1st Round
The following two pieces should be performed:
- J.S.Bach Partita in a-minor (or g-minor) for oboe solo(original: flute)
BWV 1013: Allemande & Corrente
*Either a-minor or g-minor is acceptable.
*Both movements should be performed with the first repeats.
- R.Schumann 5 Stücke im Volkston op.102 (violin-version) Nr 2,3, and 4, with piano
2nd Round
The following three pieces should be performed:
- F.Couperin Concert Nr.11 from ”les Goûts réunis ” (uzeau), with harpsichord
*May be performed with or without repeats.
- Choose one from the following pieces:
(a) G.Silvestrini Three of the 6 Etudes for oboe solo
(b) L.Berio Sequenza Nr.7
(c) A.Dorati Cinq pieces pour hautbois seule: Nr.1, 3, and 5
(d) H.Holliger Sonata for oboe solo (1956/2000)
- R.Strauss Concerto for oboe, with piano
*It is suggested to perform from memory, although it is not obligatory.
Final Round
The following two pieces should be performed:
- W.A.Mozart Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra in C Major, K.314(285d) (Henle)
*Should be performed from memory.
- B.Martinu Oboe Concerto (new Maurice Bourgue/Guy Porat Max Eschig)
*It is suggested to perform from memory, although it is not obligatory.
